Leah and I have returned from our Ghana mission and are so thankful to be home with our family and friends again! We were unable to do any posting the last several weeks we were over there so I will attempt to catch everyone up over the next week or two. We were so grateful for the opportunity to visit the Mole National Wildlife Park which was about a four-and-a-half hour trip over extremely rough roads, but very well worth it!

I apologize for being so inconsistent with our posting, but we are both doing very well and staying busy in the various ministries God has given us while over here. Today makes exactly three more weeks of our stay in Ghana! Here are some pictures to let you in on what we have been doing.

We are both doing well and are excited about what God is doing

 in us and through us!

We visited the "Grotto," a resort near Techiman, and a holy place of the Catholic church, where people often come to pray.  It was a beautiful piece of property, quiet and peaceful, and we enjoyed the clambering over the rocks and the sights of nature.  Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

Many people who come to this place believe that the rocks have special healing powers. You can see in this picture where people have scooped out the rock, which seemed to be some kind of sandstone. They then mix the grit with water and drink it hoping it will cure their illness.

 

Along the way there are many statues, meant to depict the trial, sufferings and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, climaxing with His body lying in the tomb. We realized that there was no empty tomb, and no ascension into Heaven and the thought was very sad to me. What would the gospel be without a resurrected Lord? Where is our hope if there is nothing after the grave?

 I am so thankful to know that we serve a Risen Savior! The tomb was not the end, Jesus Christ is alive! He is in Heaven offering that same abundant and eternal life to all those that will repent of their sins and believe on Him. We have a blessed hope!

Hello From Ghana, West Africa!

   Let me begin by apologizing for not having posted sooner. Internet connection has been a constant struggle for us! When we have been somewhere with Wi-Fi we have not had the time to do a post. But finally we have the opportunity to do so and hope you enjoy!

We have also begun devotions with the high school girls every morning. God has been so good and blessed us amazingly! At times it has been very difficult (different culture, strange food, lack of contact with the outside world, no hot water) but it is in our weakness that He is made strong!
