The Bible says in Romans 3:10,12 and 23 “10As it is written, There is none
righteous, no, not one: 12They are all gone out of the way, they are together
become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 23For all have
sinned, and come short of the glory of God”;in Isaiah 64:6 we read “6But we are
all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we
all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us
away.”
II. Did you know that there is a penalty for sin?
The Bible says in Romans 5:12,21; 6:21,23; 8:6,13; Revelation 20:14,15
“12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so
death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 21That as sin hath reigned
unto death,…” Rom. 6:21,23 “21What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye
are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 23For the wages of sin is
death;…” Rom. 8:6,13 “6For to be carnally minded is death;… 13For if ye live
after the flesh, ye shall die:…”
Rev. 20:14,15 “14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is
the second death.15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was
cast into the lake of fire.”
III. Did you know that Jesus Christ paid the penalty?
The Bible says in Romans 5:6,8; 1Corinthians 15:3; 2Corinthians 5:21;
Galatians 3:13; 1Peter 2:24 “6For when we were yet without strength, in due time
Christ died for the ungodly. 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” 1Cor. 15:3 “3For I delivered
unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our
sins according to the scriptures;” 2Cor. 5:21 “21For he hath made him to be sin
for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Gal. 3:13 “13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a
curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:”
1Pet. 2:24 “24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that
we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were
healed.”
IV. Did you know that you can be forgiven?
The Bible says in Romans 4:8; Colossians 1:21,22; Acts 28:16; 1John 1:9
“8Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.” Col. 1:21-22 “21And
you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet
now hath he reconciled 22In the body of his flesh through death, to present you
holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:” Acts 28:16 “16To open
their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan
unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them
which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” 1Jn. 1:9 “9If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.”
V. Would you like to pray and receive forgiveness?
If you would like to pray and accept the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ
as the payment for your sins that would appease the Almighty God you can simply
bow your head and your heart right now right where you are and pray something of
this nature: “Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner and I believe that Jesus Christ
died for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. I would like to ask
you to forgive me and save my soul. I ask you now to come into my heart and to
live in me. I believe that Jesus is the Lord and Saviour. Thank you for saving
my soul! Amen.” Rom. 10:9,10,13 “9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 13For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
